International scientific research as well as other development programmes and projects at DOBA Faculty of Applied Business and Social Sciences Maribor are carried out within the framework of the Business Research Institute, headed by director full Prof. Dr. Boris Cizelj.

The Business Research Institute is an independent unit of DOBA Faculty and was registered as an research institution on 3 March 2005. It was established to bring together theory and practice. The foundations of scientific research and development work at DOBA Faculty aim to implement development projects and the establish cooperation with closer and wider region.
